It certainly is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here in Lausanne. And I am just loving it! There are lights and Christmas trees going up, there is usually a light snow dusting every morning, and the Christmas markets have officially started! We have been seeing the booths being set up for weeks now but it didn’t open until last weekend! So, we took a study break and headed down there one night for some hot wine, raclette (a traditional Swiss dish of potatoes drenched in raclette cheese!), and waffles for dessert as we wandered through the market looking at what each booth had to offer. And I may or may not have picked up a few Christmas gifts for my family!
The food and market look like the the best place to take a break ever….!
Hi Caroline! You don’t know me, but I am a friend of Allison’s! I wanted to write a message because A. I love all of your posts and B. I don’t know if you have ever been, but, if you have the chance you must go to Paris for the Christmas Markets. I happened to go during that time and they light the trees and have fair along the Champs Elysées, it is one of the most magical things I have ever seen. I think you would love it!
