Nothing beats the holidays when you are together with family.  Like the song goes… It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  And we love spending it on Nantucket.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to each and every one of you! We are so happy that we were able to ring in the New Year together and we are so excited for what 2014 might have in store for us.  The New Year always feels like a fresh start. It’s when you think about the resolutions and goals you have for the year to come. But, while we think that is important, we also think it is important to reflect upon everything that happened in the previous year. It reminds us to be thankful for both the good times and the hard times. One of our favorite things about this blog is that it documents our lives and it makes it easy for us to reflect upon the previous year. So, we took some time to read through our blog posts from 2013 and reminded ourselves of the year we had.

To start, we launched Milly & Grace Girls!  Yay! One of our best decisions of 2013. We love this blog dearly! And we are so grateful for everyone who follows along and encourages us to keep blogging. It wouldn’t be the same without you guys. So, thank you!

Happy Birthday Emily

Today, is a very big day. Because our Emily turns 30!!! That’s right…no more twenties for her!

emily

And it’s the first time since Caroline was 8 years old that she gets to celebrate Emily’s birthday with her because Caroline was always stuck in school across the country on December 14. But, not this year! So, she and our mom convinced Emily to let us throw her a big party to celebrate her. Because, my goodness, that girl deserves to be celebrated.

She is the oldest of the three of us and has always been a role model for her little sisters. She was the first to learn how to ride a bike,  to read, to write, the first to go to school…

and the first to follow her dream…

And therefore set an example for us and showed her little sisters that following and living your dream is possible.  Which is exactly why Allison is out in LA following her dream of becoming an actress and why Caroline believes in her dream of becoming a wedding planner and wants to start her own business.

She is the most determined, hardworking, caring, and selfless person we know. She can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. She moves a million miles a minute. (It’s amazing to watch. We don’t know how she does it. She proposed the idea of her store and then painted, decorated, bought inventory, and set up shop all within 2 months. We’re telling you…a million miles a minute.) She is always helping someone else or thinking of someone else before herself. And we can only hope that we can grow up to become just like her one day.

She has been there for each of us every step of the way – supporting us, giving us advice, and loving us unconditionally.

We know that not every group of sisters out there can say this, and so we feel incredibly lucky to be able to say this…but the three of us are best friends. And we couldn’t imagine it any other way.

photo1 Words cannot accurately describe how much we love you and look up to you, Emily. We are so proud of you and are so lucky to call you our older sister.

So, here’s to celebrating you all day long! Happy birthday sweet sister!
