I’ve got Pink & Gray on the mind.  Well, I always do.  But ever since that Ralph Lauren fashion show, pink & gray has been popping up everywhere!!  Here is the image that started the obsession:
Years ago, Caroline was flipping through a Martha Stewart Wedding magazine (surprise surprise) and she came across a pink & gray wedding.  We both couldn’t believe how pretty the combo was!  It was so feminine – and not in a girlie girl way, in a more sophisticated way.  When Milly & Grace came to be, naturally the colors had to be pink & gray.

While we were in NYC, Patty and I stumbled upon some Pink & Gray “brownstone”!
And much to my delight, a few of the designers that we carry at Milly & Grace are also using pink & gray in their fall collections!  I was wondering if this trend was going to trickle down from the high fashion runway world to the contemporary world and it did!!

What’s a Little Shirley??  It’s a sweet little vase named after the artist’s grandmother. Sounds like a perfect fit for Milly & Grace!  They come in a bunch of beautiful colors and they will be available this Spring!  Here’s the story behind the Little Shirley… Meet Lauren!  The adorable artist and owner of Material Good, the company that makes the Little Shirleys.  A few years back, her grandmother, Shirley, was diagnosed with cancer.  To honor her, Lauren wanted to do something to help give back to cancer research.  Her mother owned a flower shop and so Lauren decided to make little vases to sell at the shop and the proceeds would go to the cause.  She believed that by selling a tangible gift people would feel more connected to the cause.  Lauren’s mother donated a flower to be sold with each vase and they started selling like hotcakes!  It’s the perfect hostess gift and a sweet little something to brighten someone’s day.  Blown away by it’s success, Lauren decided to make a career out of it and so began Material Good!  Lauren is just the sweetest and is so happy to be doing what she loves.  She said that her employees are all her friends and they roller-skate in the studio!  They also have pancake Fridays.  Umm.. The Milly & Grace Girls need to take a page out of her book!

Hello from Atlanta!  Patty and I just finished up a successful trip to the Gift Mart to stock up on goodies for next year!  It’s hard to believe that we are buying for Milly & Grace’s 5th season!  Where has the time gone?  It just seems like yesterday that we were gearing up to buy for our very first year.  We were nervous, confused and didn’t know where to begin.  Now we have it down a little more and I’m really excited about all the new things we found.  Ok, so here’s a few of our favorites….

Now don’t you all roll your eyes at once, but we picked up a dog toy and accessory line called Harry Barker. (Great name, right?!) Obviously Miss Ivy inspired me to branch out into the pet market.  I couldn’t resist.  And plus, the starfish dog toys are perfect for Nantucket!
I’m over the moon about the new pillows we picked up.  So many great colors and patterns to choose from!  I am personally loving all shades of blues/indigos that are on trend right now.
Year to year, we like to reinvent ourselves as much as we can without losing sight of what we are known for.  So while we will have some of our staple go to candles, we picked up some new (and colorful) styles too!My most favorite new home item for next season are these bad boys… Wooden martini glasses.  Hello!!  I think a Pink & Gray is going to taste especially good in one of these!The company also makes great cutting boards and trays.  I think the cheeseboard and knife set is the perfect gift!I’ll end with 2 of my favorite pieces of wall art from Sugarboo.  Sugarboo is such a happy company and we love everything they stand for!  How perfect will this be hanging in Milly and Grace?!And this is the best reminder:I have one more new item that I want to share with you all but it will have to wait until next time.  It deserves it’s own post.  Until then!!
